About this Fabric: Batiste fabric is a fine and sheer plain woven lightweight fabric that is made from various fibers. It is more of an opaque fabric than transparent and tends to have a lengthwise streak pattern. This is because it uses 2ply yarns in its construction. Because of its light and delicate nature, batiste is primarily used for airy blouses, shirts, dresses, infant clothing, and handkerchiefs. It is also used as lining for lightweight linen and cotton skirts and dresses. This Sheermist Batiste is a cotton polyester blend, this allows the fabric to have a longer life and able to withstand many washes but still have the softness and cooling ability of cotton. This makes this fabric great for everyday and summer wear clothing like, button up shirts, blouses, skirts and dresses.
