About Polar Fleece: Polar fleece is an incredibly soft and thick textile made up of millions of tiny polyester fibers fused together, making it warm and reliable. Fleece was originally made to mimic and in some ways surpass wool; created to be just as warm as wool with only a fraction of wool’s weight. Because of fleece’s capacity to maintain high insulation while still remaining very light weight and breathable; most sewers use fleece for warm apparel projects such as charming sweaters, beanies, and blankets. Sewing with fleece is a different process that may take some getting used to, but once you get a feel for fleece you’ll find it’s particularly easier to work with than many other fabrics.
