About this Fabric: Osnaburg is a course plain weave fabric, named after the city of Osnabruck, Germany. It was that was often made of flax or jute and greatly used in the 1700’s. It is now referred to as a rough or coarse woven fabric, often resembling linen, and can be made from a variety of fibers. This particular Osnaburg is a light to medium weigth 100% cotton fabric that has a loose even weave giving off the illusion that it is linen. Since it is made from 100% cotton it is machine washable for easy care; it has also been finished for crease resistance and pre shrunk. This allows it be used for a wide variety of apparel, home décor, and crafting projects. Create fantastic looking light and airy linen look apparel such as, pants, blouses, top, and tunics.
