Felt Gingerbread House Materials:

Square 6x6 Paper Mache Box, Lidded 3 Sheets Brown Felt 1 Sheet Red Felt 1 Sheet White Felt Felt Scraps, Assorted Colors Jumbo Rick Rack, 1 pkg Assorted Buttons Fabri-TacGlue 1 sheet 12x12 chipboard

Felt Gingerbread House Instructions:

Cut a piece of chipboard to 3 1/2" x 12". Fold in half lengthwise to form roof peak. Cut a 4" chipboard square. Cut corner to corner to make 2 triangles. Cover chipboard triangles with brown felt, using Fabri-Tac glue. Cut a piece of brown felt 7"x 12". Glue to 3 1/2" chipboard piece covering both sides. Glue triangles into each side of roof piece, leaving about 1/4" on each edge. Glue brown felt to box lid, notching corners to cover sides. Trim evenly with bottom of lid. Cover box sides and bottom with brown felt. If using sheets, you may need two pieces. Place lid on box. Using Fabri-Tac, glue long sides of roof triangles to box to create house shape, as shown in photo. Be sure to glue the roof so that folded edgeoffelt is to back. Glue jumbo rick rack around edge of roof.To cover raw edges and mimic icing. Cut a door shape out of red felt. Glue to front of house, adding white felt window and button doorknob. Embellish with felt scraps and buttons as desired. The box can be used for cookies, small gifts, as a decoration or as a gingerbread playhouse toy for children over the age of 3.
