About this Fabric: Drapery Buckram is pre cut widths of buckram used for stabilizing the headings of curtains. Buckram is a loosely woven cotton or linen fabric that is then sized and starched to become a stiff almost permanently woven fabric. Buckram is used in curtains and drapes to stabilize and stiffen the tops, especially those that have pleats and tucks. Because the buckram is stiff, it creates sharp clean folds that keep their shape, which make beautiful long lasting drapes and curtains. Drapery buckram is usually placed on headings and come in 3”, 4”, and 5” widths to fit most curtain styles. It is ideal for any curtain type except, rod pocket or gathered curtains.
